The Route of the ATV Buggy Tour
After breakfast and a safety briefing, the buggy tour begins from the Rancho. The 120-horsepower Kawasaki buggies effortlessly tackle obstacles along the way, such as crossing small rivers and climbing hills.
The 42 km route mainly follows dirt roads through breathtakingly beautiful landscapes. Along the way, you'll pass plantations of cacao, coffee, and citrus fruits, allowing you to fully enjoy the untouched nature.
You'll also get to meet the friendly locals from the villages in this non-touristic inland area that we drive through. Additionally, the tour includes visits to two attractions in this region: Peña Alta and Cueva Fun Fun.

Peña Alta.
Peña Alta is a 408-meter-high mountain and the highest point in this area. The 5 km climb to the top is on a dirt road. At the top of the mountain you have a fantastic view of the beautiful nature of this area. You can take a seat on the spectucal 6-meter-high swing. The hovering moments above the precipice produce wonderful photos. The family that lives at the top of Peña Alta demonstrates the grinding and brewing of coffee the authentic way. Of course, you get to try it yourself and taste the freshly brewed coffee.
Cueva Fun Fun Fun.
Cueva Fun Fun is the largest cave in the Caribbean. An underground river flows through the 18 km long system of corridors. The entrance to the cave is hidden in the tropical rainforest. Cueva Fun Fun was inhabited centuries ago by the Taino Indians who left their sculptures here. Inside the cave you can see a spectacle of the giant stalactite formations of all shapes and colors. At the exit of the cave is a natural pool with a small waterfall in the clear water you can refresh yourself. Before we start the drive back to the Rancho there is the possibility for those interested to participate in a short jungle walk. The route goes through a tropical rainforest and along the banks of a river.
Culture.
The Rancho is located on an authentic cacao plantation. Here you will be introduced to the authentic products of the Dominican Republic such as, cocoa, coffee and sugar cane. There are explanations about the preparation of chocolate from cocoa and rum from sugar cane. Furthermore, you can taste the different fruits from the plantation throughout the season. The fruit juice served at breakfast and lunch is made from fruits from the plantation.
At the end of the day you can enjoy an authentic Dominican lunch.

On Tuesdays and Fridays it is possible to choose a buggy tour where more time is available for culture. Inquire about the very attractive price of this buggy tour via Whatsapp. In this buggy tour there is more attention to the theme Meet the Locals, the authentic products of the Dominican and the eco cocoa plantation. On the outward journey to the starting point of the buggy tour, a stop will be made at the central park of Hato Mayor. This is one of the most beautiful parks in the Dominican Republic with beautiful mosaics inspired by the work of Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi.
This buggy tour has a 22 km off-road route on which you can fully enjoy our fantastic Kawasaki KRX 1000ATV buggy's. The buggy tour includes a visit to Peña Alto and a stop at a local colmado, but without Cueva Fun Fun. After the buggy tour, you can stroll through the Rancho's authentic eco plantation past cacao trees, coffee plants and the many varieties of fruit trees. Tasting fruit freshly picked from a tree is a real treat. Of course, plenty of time is available for the various preparations of authentic Dominican products such as chocolate, coffee and rum. Mamajuana the National drink we have not forgotten.
Both the Offroad Monster Buggy Tour and the More Culture Buggy Tour are both full-day excursions. With a start time at 09:00 in the morning and a finish time at 16:30 in the afternoon.
